Host a Cass Eager HOUSE CONCERT + free tix for Sydney next weekend

Hello dear friends and cohorts!

I hope this news finds you well and happy and life is good 🙂

I’m back in Sydney after a very chilly but very fun Gympie Muster in QLD. Winter festivals somehow bring everyone together as you huddle and cozy up around the fire pits, just like our ancestors would have done many moons ago! Here’s a couple of pics from our adventures from Gympie, as well as the Winter Blues Festival in VIC, my last gig with Irish Mythen at Camelot, and Melbourne’s Spiegeltent show with Lloyd Spiegel…

I wanted to let you guys know about this one before anyone else so you can get in first with your concert requests. I’m doing a House Concert Tour and each concert will be donation-based so there is NO COST to host a concert!

A house concert is basically a get-together of friends in your lounge room or backyard with live music; often with food, drinks and conversation. House concerts are cosy, intimate, and allow your guests to really get to know the artist (me).

Hosting a house concert is an experience you will never forget. A house concert can be…
• an alternative to going out on a Friday night
• a concert under the stars in your backyard
• a reason to get all your friends together
• a way to celebrate a birthday or special occasion
• an opportunity to enjoy music with friends at home

You can host a house concert with as few as 20 people, and they are based on donations from the guests so there is no up-front cost to you!
If you’d like to host a house concert, please get in touch here and request a Host Guide. I’d love to do a show at your house!

2016 Spring/Summer House Concert Tour dates: Nov 17 – Dec 11
Deadline for host requests: Oct 17

2017 Autumn House Concert Tour dates: Apr 27 – May 14
Deadline for host requests: March 1

Once I receive all host requests I plan out my tour and confirm a week later so there’s plenty of time to organise your event (I’ve already received interest from Ocean Grove in VIC to Tambourine Mountain in QLD so am happy to travel).

Feel free to pass this on to friends you think may be interested.
I’ll do a Facebook announcement in a week and then it will be open to everyone 🙂

I hope to see you in your backyard or lounge room soon…

Both my last show and Irish’s last show at this venue SOLD OUT (thank you so much beautiful people!) and I know that some of you indeed missed out on coming. So Irish is back in Australia and we’re moving upstairs to the main Camelot Lounge room next Saturday 1st October, and it’s gonna be bigger and better!

To celebrate, I’m GIVING AWAY a double pass to the show, so all you have to do is be the very first person to email me here and say ‘Yo! Gimme a double pass!’

Here’s the show info and I hope to see you there again next Saturday.
Saturday 1 October (with Irish Mythen)
9pm show (doors 7.30pm)
Camelot Lounge Marrickville
$30 – buy tickets / more info here

(A bit about Irish: Irish/Canadian folk artist Irish Mythen is a true entertainer who is known for her gripping live performances. She is the storyteller who will grasp your attention and the comedian with a joie de vivre who’ll have you laughing from the very beginning.)

Here’s a clip from my last solo show there (thanks to the lovely Glen Morgan) and to everyone for coming!
Big love,
Cass xxx

THANK YOU + help me write my SOLO set list for Syd & Melb…

Hello dear friends and cohorts!

First off, I’d like to say a BIG FAT SORRY to you for not writing sooner. I just checked and it’s been months since I wrote. This parenting thing can be really time-consuming! Phew. The thing is, I sure do love BEING a mama, but I also miss singing for you.

I’ve realised YOU are really the reason I make music. Not the self-expression. Not the creativity. Not the longing…or the release. It’s the CONNECTION. It’s the humanness – the music is the glue that binds our messy, glorious lives. Like when I write a song about something that happened to me…and then I sing it to you…and you tell me that I must have written that song for you…because you were there…in every line.

Man, I love that. THAT’S THE REASON.

Without you I literally would not be making music and writing songs and playing shows and singing…

In saying all of that, I’d like to musically hug every one of you in a small room with a large PA.

so I am doing two very special intimate SOLO acoustic shows in July – one in Sydney and one in Melbourne…

so I would LOVE you to be there. Because then I can say thanks… in person, share some music, tales, wine and good times. Plus I won’t be playing again for a while…

here’s the info for the shows:
SOLO/ with RORY ELLIS (Sydney) and LLOYD SPIEGEL (Melbourne):

SYDNEY – Friday 8 July, 8.30pm
Django Bar (Camelot Lounge) Marrickville (Rory Ellis opening)
7.30pm doors, 9pm show
$12+bf/$15 door – buy tickets / more info here

MELBOURNE – Friday 15 July, 8pm
Wonderland Spiegeltent, Docklands (opening for Lloyd Spiegel)
$20 – buy tickets / more info here
I’d also like YOU to help me write my SET LISTS for both of the shows, so if you have a favourite…old or new…let me know by emailing me HERE, and I’ll play it! 🙂

I’ll have some live show footage to send you real soon.
And some info on a story behind a new song I’ll be playing at the July shows.

Big love,
Cass xxx

Little Lois is here!

She’s the reason I’ve been on the down low lately, taking the last few months off touring and generally being around… I’m a very proud mama!!
A dear friend of mine recently took some photos of Lois and Team Howler for her blog – I thought I’d share so you can check her out x Mama Cass (he he)

TONIGHT! Show with Michael Franti & Spearhead at Waves, Wollongong

NEWS! We are opening for Michael Franti & Spearhead tonight at Waves in Wollongong!! Unfortunately Trevor Hall (US) is ill and we’ve been asked to replace him on the show. We’ll do our best to fill his spot and bring some of our own soul to Franti’s Soulshine Bluesfest Tour!

I’ve been a huge fan of Michael Franti & Spearhead since I was a young musician, and I’m happy to say he has influenced my music. I’m stoked to play this show, so get on down tonight if you’re local and looking for some great music and a dose of soulshine…
